One day prior to arriving at Natchez we had not heard of this wonderful historical town. What a great discovery. We learned about Natchez during a private tour of the Vicksburg Civil War battlefield. We arrived in Natchez and fortunately for us a local person recommended the Oak Hill Inn and we called them. They had just had a cancellation because of bad weather in Minnesota. So we booked one night. Fortunately for us, the next morning during breakfast we learned that the Minnesota travelers had also cancelled two nights so we quickly decided to stay another night. It is a great place and Doug has lots of good advice for the local places to go. This is the second time in all my travels that I have added a comment to Tripadvisor - both of which were places I would love to go back to again.
